Field full of butterflies

Rosemary Penfold's beautiful and evocative memoir of her life growing up in the fields of the English countryside is a moving testament to a forgotten world and a disappearing and misunderstood people. Born in 1938 in a traditional Gypsy wagon, surrounded by the love of her parents and extended family in a small but close-knit community, Rosemary paints a vivid and touching portrait of a way of life that no longer exits. From her early memories of her father bringing home oranges during the war to the simple beauty of a field full of butterflies on a hot summer's day, Rosemary's elegant narrative captures the love and losses, hopes and struggles, and traditions and prejudices that bound her to her family, and helped her adapt to a fast-changing world.

I would like to say thank you for all your patience. I have been battling
with Cancer; this is why I haven’t been working on Romanyjib, so please
except my apologies. I will be back very soon, as I am managing the
Chemotherapy much better than when it started four months ago.
I can’t wait to get back to work with Romanyjib members to help find
their relatives. I feel like I have let you all down, so I am determined
to make it up to all who wanted my help.
Yesterday, my book titled “The Evans Romani Gypsy Dictionary”
was released in Hardback & Softback. I was determine to make sure the
Roma Dialect that my father and I spoke, doesn’t die with me, if I don’t
make it, however I am thinking positive, and know that if you send me a
small healing thought, then I will be researching Romany history for years’
to come.
