Blair & Gregory Family
Tish33 would like to make contact with anyone related to this family
She has the marriage of her ancestor Thomas Blair to Mary Ann Gregory which states his father was a Robert Blair Hawker and Mary's father John Gregory Tinman both alive at time
They married in 1842 Leicestershire- witnesses Joseph Smith & Elizabeth Adcock - all made their mark
Having looked for a Robert, there is only one with a child called Thomas but having researched this line he eventually marries Ann Patterson which leads me to say its not the Thomas Tish is looking for, this still leaves the problem why he said father was Robert > possible mistake on marriage certificate or was his father known by 2 names?
The most likely person who fits as father is a Moses Blair although we need confirmation this is correct if anyone can please help here
The family have links with one area St Margaret Leicestershire , although Thomas family if correct parents did start and live
in Derbyshire

All findings like any Info needs confirming Sandeyb

I am the gg grandaughter of Thomas Blair and I am also of the opinion that Moses Blair might be his father. The only link that I can find is Florence Making/Meakin/Jarvis who is living with Joseph and Matilda Blair in 1891 and 1901 (as married woman F Finney in 1901). Florence is the daughter of Mary Ann Blair and William Jarvis, but took the name Makin when Mary Ann lived with James Makin after leaving William Jarvis. Florence married under her proper name of Jarvis. Incidently Thomas Percy Blair and Mary Ann Blair on 1881 Brampton census are actually Makins too, but have been wrongly transcribed. I cannot yet establish who this pair are. Also Robert Blairs first wife Harriett Atkins died and Robert remarried to Emma Moore, they are my g grandparents, and hence the apparent change of Roberts wifes name. I am trying to find a link between Moses Blair and Thomas Blair which would prove they are father and son, its very difficult!
